Organ-on-a-Chip Technology

We provide extracellular matrix-derived biomaterials suitable for bioprinting on organ on a chip platforms for the development of reliable and reproducible disease and therapeutics research models.

ECM in Microphysiological Systems

Our porcine extracellular matrix-derived tissues and organs are used widely in micropatterned tissue constructs, organoids, and microphysiological systems such as organ on a chip and tissue on a chip.

Porcine tissues and organs are similar to human in anatomical size and structure, physiology, immunology, and genome, and are often used in cardiovascular, respiratory, wound healing, metabolic disease, cancer, cell & gene therapy, and vaccine and toxicology research.

At Viscus Biologics, we specialize in sourcing and processing porcine extracellular matrix-derived biomaterials, including “exotic” tissues and organs that are hard to source. We provide these biomaterials in a wide range of form factors and can customize both our tissue processing process and desired form factor to meet specific customer requirements.

Tissues and cells are often 3D printed on organ on a chip systems, and our ECM-based bioinks are well suited for bioprinting. Our ECM-derived biomaterials have high reliability and reproducibility and tunable mechanical properties with customizable stiffness to suit the development of specific organ on a chip models.
